Race Info:
The Team Rocket Tri Club invites you to participate in the 4th Annual Nesin Therapy, Heel & Crank Duathlon at 7:45 AM on October 26, 2008 at Bridge Street Town Centre, Huntsville, AL. All proceeds of this event will go benefit ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), helping ALS patients in Alabama. This race was started in honor of Darin Kruse and will now and forever be held in his memory.

Schedule of Events:
Monday, October 13th: Price increases to $40 for individuals, $55 for teams
 Saturday, October 25: 10:00 - 6:00 pm Packet pickup at Fleet Feet of Huntsville. 2722 Carl T. Jones Dr. Huntsville, AL 35802
Sunday, October 26: RACE DAY
6:00 am - Late packet pick-up and race day registration; $50 for individuals and $65 for teams
6:30 am - Transition area opens. Emergency on-site bike repair provided by Bicycles Etc.
7:30 am - ALL BIKES MUST BE IN TRANSITION AREA AND READY TO GO
7:40 am - All racers should be at the start line for the national anthem
7:45 am - RACE START
10:00 am (about) - Awards ceremony

Important Note: In the event of inclimate weather, the race will proceed as scheduled, however, transition area and awards will be move to the underground parking area.

Awards:
Awards will go 3 deep in the following categories;

  • Overall male and female winners
  • Individual 5-year age groups, male and female
  • Clydesdale and Athena
  • Military, male and female
  • Female team
  • Male team
  • Mixed Team
  • PC (physically challenged)

Course Description:

Run #1: will go through the center of beautiful Bridge Street Town Centre turning around the fountain by Monaco theater, returning on the other side, and then proceeding out into Cummings Research Park West.

Bike: this portion will be held within the confines of Cummings Research Park West. The majority of the roads used will be 4-lanes, smooth, and fast. There will be few gently rolling hills. The bike portion will be open to traffic, but traffic should be light on Sunday morning. Huntsville police department will be supporting the race, placing officers at all major intersections.

Run#2: The final run, will be very similar to the first run, but will not proceed through the mall area. Both run portions are extremely flat.
