TRTC 2025 points challenge

“Racin’ the Station” Duathlon is a Run/Bike/Run event where the participants will “race” the International Space Station (ISS) as it completes one Earth orbit. The ISS completes an orbit every 91 minutes 12 seconds. We will track the starting location of the ISS at the race start time and see who “beats” the space station by completing the event by the 91 minute 12 second mark.

Race Distance

The distances are in three “translations”:
geek speak: Run pi (km) / Bike e^pi (km) / Run pi (km)
global speak: Run 3.14 km / Bike 23 km / Run 3.14 km
old school ‘Merica only: Run 1.95 miles / Bike 14.3 miles / Run 1.95 miles

The run course is very flat (same for both legs) and the bike course has a few small hills, but is overall very flat as well.

Race Day Directions

You must come in gate 9 of Redstone Arsenal (this is exit off I-565). Research Park Blvd turns into Rideout Road once you go through the gate.

Only US Citizen. Must have valid driver’s license, up-to-date tag receipt and up-to-date insurance card. No weapons allowed on the Arsenal.

Important Registration and Race Access Info

Those without Redstone Arsenal access will be permitted to register ONLY if you are a US Citizen. Also, those without access will be not permitted to register after September 23, 2025 (Get your Arsenal Recreation Pass!!! ITS FREE!!!)

Those without Redstone Arsenal access must provide SSN if they do not get escorted by someone with access. (directions during registration process)
